After our last batch of Natalie’s famous pancakes, we
checked out of our fabulous canal view room – what a find this hotel was (see
link to website on earlier blog entry). We will certainly try to come back here
some time.
We caught a train to Maastricht, the city where Paul’s
father and ancestors were born.
The train was comfortable and moved quickly through
the countryside. There are still original windmills scattered about but many
more of the new wind-farm turbines. Free internet was available on the train –
wouldn’t it be great if Australian trains offered this on country services!?
We are staying with Paul’s cousin who he hadn’t
seen for over 25 years. His aunt and uncle joined us for afternoon tea and
dinner. Lots of catching up to do and photos to show.
