This
week’s Sepia Saturday photo prompt is of girls on a bed with dolls and other
‘toys’.
As
kids, my brothers and I were always climbing onto each others beds and
‘reading’ stories or making up stories using our toys.
There’s
only 3½ years between the three of us so despite living on farms, there was
always ‘someone to play with’, or to fight with!
Delightful pictures, Jackie. Big brother in the middle one of the three looks a cheeky young fellow.
ReplyDeleteSo many bed photos! My sister and I spent many hours playing on or beds or sick in our beds but nary a photo remains to show it.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, this is just a precious, sweet post, thanks for sharing the joy and happiness here.
ReplyDeleteMy brother and I used to drive our mom crazy because we'd pull the blankets off our beds, then wad them up in the middle of the bed to make mountains for our little plastic cars to drive on. It didn't take mom long, however, to teach us how to help each other tuck our blankets back into place the minute we were through playing! Beds, themselves, were frequently used as cars themselves, or perhaps boats, buses, airplanes, or space ships among other imaginative things. People today tend to think technology has taken over kids' imaginations, but I think kids still do a lot of pretending and thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteI had no siblings and no photos of playing on any beds. This was obviously a favourite spot for you all!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of two grandsons. It's lovely to see happy kids.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely series of photographs. You are lucky to have so many. Someone in your family was handy with a camera. Good post!
ReplyDeleteLove the two photographs that show you and your brothers reading together. I don't think have any photos or children reading in bed, but I think there is one of my mother reading to several grandchildren that might suit a future prompt, if I can find it.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely happy photos - and the title is so apt ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks to your title, I have that song stuck in my head. Love the pictures though, and now I'm thinking about the number of pictures of my girls playing in bed together when they were little.
